New Delhi (OT Webdesk): In a major boost to India’s air defence capabilities, the Indian Army is set to deploy the indigenous Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) System along the China and Pakistan borders.
This fully indigenous system, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is designed to neutralise aerial threats with precision in both day and night operations.
The QRSAM features advanced radar technology that can track targets up to 120 km away and engage moving aerial threats with a range of 30 km.
The system’s two-way data communication allows seamless coordination between radar and missiles for efficient interception.
With the Indian government finalising a Rs 30,000 crore procurement deal, this deployment marks a significant leap in India’s defence preparedness.
The QRSAM will complement existing air defence systems, including the S-400 missile system, to strengthen national security.
Experts view this advancement as a critical step toward self-reliance in defence technology while ensuring India’s airspace remains secure from evolving threats.
