In Jajpur ; Administration holds preparatory meeting for International Buddhist Conference
Jajpur: A preparatory meeting was held at the Tourist Reception Centre, Udayagiri In Jajpur on Monday for the Guru Padmasambhava Prayer Festival and the International Buddhist Conference to be held from January 11 to 16 at Udayagiri Buddhist Monastery under Badachana Block.
The meeting was chaired by Badachana MLA Amar Kumar Nayak, District Collector Ambar Kumar Kar & Sp Yashpratap Shrimal. More than 2,000 Buddhist monks from different countries will participate in this international Buddhist conference.
The Badachana MLA has discussed with all the departmental officials to make arrangements for their accommodation, food and other facilities.
He consulted with the CDMO to provide 24-hour health services and advised the officials from the Culture Department to install CCTV cameras extensively at public gatherings and squares, keeping in mind the convention venue and law and order.
District Collector Kar has directed the departmental officers to complete all the preparations by the first week of January and inform them. A mock drill will be held in the first week of January to review the preparations of all the departments.
