Puri, May 26 (OT Webdesk)—In a commendable step towards strengthening public safety measures during one of Odisha’s most revered festivals, the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), Paradeep Unit, has provided 200 road barricades to the Puri Administration.
The initiative, part of IFFCO’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility, is aimed at enhancing road safety and ensuring efficient crowd management during the upcoming Pabitra Ratha Yatra 2025
The ceremonial handover took place in Puri in the presence of the District Collector, Siddhart Shankar Swain, IAS, Superintendent of Police, Puri, Vinit Agrawal, IPS, P.K. Mahapatra, Unit Head of IFFCO Paradeep Unit, and Prasanna Kumar Beura, IFFCO’s Public Relations Officer. The program was efficiently coordinated and facilitated by Prasanna Kumar Beura.
With an anticipated footfall of nearly 10 lakh devotees during the grand chariot festival, crowd management and public safety have become top priorities for the district administration. The 200 barricades provided by IFFCO will be strategically placed across major routes and congregation points in Puri to aid in smooth crowd control, traffic regulation, and the overall safety of pilgrims.
Speaking on the occasion, P.K. Mahapatra emphasised IFFCO’s dedication to contributing to the welfare of the public through various initiatives. “IFFCO has always stood by its values of community service. Whether it is providing free food during mass gatherings or contributing to road safety,” he said.
The barricades will be deployed at key points across Puri to help regulate traffic, manage large crowds, and ensure the safety of millions of devotees expected to participate in the grand chariot procession. The support is expected to significantly bolster the logistical preparedness of the district administration.
As the sacred festival draws near, IFFCO’s thoughtful contribution reaffirms its commitment not only to agricultural and industrial development but also to the broader goals of civic responsibility and public welfare.
