Hydroponic Marijuana Worth Rs 6 Crore Seized at Bhubaneswar Airport
Bhubaneswar, March 24: In a major crackdown, officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized hydroponic marijuana worth over Rs 6 crore at Biju Patnaik International Airport.
The contraband, weighing nearly 6 kilograms, was smuggled in from Bangkok on flight 6E‑1066 and concealed in the luggage of two passengers.
Both accused, reportedly natives of Tamil Nadu, were detained for interrogation.
Authorities are investigating the wider trafficking network and identifying the intended recipients in Odisha.
This marks one of the largest drug busts at Bhubaneswar Airport in recent months.
Security agencies have intensified monitoring of international arrivals, with DRI working to dismantle the supply chain and curb smuggling activities.
