Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), June 25: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in certain areas of Odisha starting Wednesday. This forecast comes as a result of a cyclonic circulation over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, which is expected to impact the region.
According to IMD, there is a prediction of heavy to very heavy rainfall in two districts on June 28. Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface windspeeds of 30-40 kmph are likely in several districts until 8:30 am on Wednesday, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir, Rayagada, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh.
Bhubaneswar may experience a partly cloudy sky with occasional spells of rain or thundershowers.
A yellow warning has been issued for heavy rainfall in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh over the next 24 hours. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, and Bargarh districts.
On June 27, heavy rainfall is anticipated in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Nuapada, and Bargarh. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are also expected in various districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Sonepur, and Nuapada.
