Puri, (OT Webdesk)— The second coordination meeting for Rath Yatra 2025 concluded at Town Hall in Puri, underscoring meticulous preparations to ensure a seamless and safe experience for an estimated 15 lakh devotees.

Chaired by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, the discussions emphasised health, infrastructure, transportation, and security measures essential for the festival.

Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling reassured the public regarding COVID-19 concerns, stating that the current low-variant strain poses minimal risk.

Over 300 doctors will be deployed, supported by air-conditioned beds, emergency ambulance corridors, and specialised community health services to manage the intense summer conditions.

The festival will see the operation of 365 special trains, complemented by 230-250 additional buses. Authorities have designated 18 parking zones and introduced free auto-rickshaw services to ease commuter movement.

Dedicated parking for tourist and passenger buses has been organised at Malatipatpur and Talabania.

Continuous power supply, AI-powered CCTV surveillance, and effective mosquito control have been prioritised. Additionally, 90% of drain cleaning is complete, ensuring minimal waterlogging risks.

A command control centre will oversee operations, supported by security forces and crowd management strategies.

With 80% of chariot construction completed, authorities expect the timely delivery of the intricate structures. Gundicha Temple has also undergone renovations, ensuring an improved experience for visitors.

To enhance safety, a Rs 5 lakh insurance cover per person will be provided within Puri’s municipal limits. Residents will benefit from special access privileges to Gundicha Temple during the festivities.

The administration’s collective efforts reflect a commitment to ensuring a spiritually enriching, well-organised, and secure Rath Yatra experience.
