Gold Prices Dip Sharply in Bhubaneswar, Silver Remains Steady

Bhubaneswar witnessed a significant drop in gold prices today, bringing relief to customers ahead of festive purchases.

The price of 24‑carat gold fell by Rs 1,960 per 10 grams, now standing at Rs 1,61,680. Similarly, 22‑carat gold declined by Rs 1,800, settling at Rs 1,48,200.

In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged at Rs 2,90,000 per kilogram, offering stability in the precious metals market.

Analysts attribute the fall in gold rates to global market instability triggered by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The trend has been volatile in recent days, with prices falling between March 2 and 6, rising briefly on March 7, and dropping again today.

For customers in Odisha, the decline in gold prices is seen as a welcome opportunity to invest in jewellery and ornaments, while silver continues to hold firm.
