Fresh Bomb Threat Sparks Security Alert at Sambalpur District Court

Sambalpur District Court was put on high alert late Sunday night after receiving a fresh bomb threat.

Senior police officers rushed to the premises, and a specialised team comprising the bomb disposal squad, sniffer dog unit, and cyber police conducted an extensive search across the complex.

Entry points, equipment rooms, and interior sections were thoroughly checked using sniffer dogs and metal detectors.

Authorities confirmed that no explosives or suspicious items were found.

However, security arrangements have been significantly strengthened and will remain in place until further notice.

Officials noted similarities with earlier hoax threats targeting courts in Odisha, raising concerns about a possible sequence of false alarms.

Senior officers, including the Additional Superintendent of Police and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, supervised the operation.

Investigators have not disclosed how the threat was received, and the origin remains under investigation.

Despite the scare, court activities are expected to continue normally, albeit under reinforced security measures to ensure safety.
