Fake Doctor Arrested from Goa for ₹1.19 Crore Matrimonial Scam Targeting Women

Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough, Odisha Police has arrested an alleged fraudster from Goa for duping women of over ₹1.19 crore through matrimonial websites by posing as a doctor.

The accused, identified as Jinu Sahani alias Rakesh Rajput, allegedly targeted women seeking marriage alliances and gained their trust before cheating them financially.

According to police, the accused created a fake identity and introduced himself as a qualified doctor on matrimonial platforms.

He reportedly developed close relationships with women, particularly widows, through regular conversations and video calls.

Following a detailed investigation, police tracked the accused to Goa and arrested him.

During searches, officials seized seven mobile phones, multiple SIM cards, and rubber stamps allegedly used in the fraudulent operation.
