Bhadrak, May 11, 2025(OT Webdesk)– A suspected fake currency racket has been exposed in Anand Bazaar, Bhadrak, causing concern among local traders.
The scam came to light when two individuals attempted to make purchases using counterfeit currency, prompting swift action from shopkeepers.
One suspect managed to escape, while the other was caught by vigilant locals and handed over to the police. Upon investigation, authorities recovered Rs 10,000 worth of counterfeit notes.
The police suspect that the arrested individual is part of a larger fake currency network operating in the region.
Traders in Anand Bazaar have urged authorities to step up vigilance against financial fraud. The police have launched an investigation, with the seized currency being sent for forensic examination.
