Extended Deadline: Small Investors in Odisha Chit Fund Scam Can Apply Till March 2026

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Finance Department has extended the deadline for small depositors affected by the chit fund scam to claim refunds until March 31, 2026. The earlier deadline was set for January 31, 2026.

The extension aims to provide relief to thousands of depositors who invested small amounts in fraudulent schemes and have been awaiting justice for years.

Who Can Apply

  • Depositors who invested up to Rs 10,000 and were recommended by the Commission of Inquiry.
  • Depositors who invested up to Rs 8,000 with the Golden Land Developers Group of Companies but did not receive refunds in the first phase.

Refund Process

Eligible depositors can check their application status on their district’s official website or at opid.odisha.gov.in using affidavit numbers or application details. To claim refunds, they must approach the Revenue Inspector with:

  • Valid ID proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving License, or PAN)
  • Original money receipts
  • Bank account details (account number, bank name, IFSC code)

Refunds will be processed within 15 days of submission.
