
Ex Headmaster of Primary school sentenced to 4 years RI for misappropriating government Funds
Bhubaneswar, Aug 16 (UNI) A former headmaster of a primary school in Odisha’s Kandhamal district has been sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and fined Rs. 50,000
for misappropriating government money.
The Special Vigilance Judge, Phulbani, today sentenced Subash Chandra Nayak, former Headmaster-cum-Secretary of Rangapaju UP School under Tumudibandha Block in Kandhamal, to undergo four years of rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs. 50,000.
Nayak was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(c)(d) of the PC Act, 1988, and Section 409 IPC for misappropriating government funds meant for
constructing a classroom in the school.
He was taken into judicial custody to serve his sentence.
Following the conviction, Odisha Vigilance has announced that it will move the competent authority for Nayak’s dismissal from service.
The former headmaster had been absconding from the school after committing the offence.
