Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Turns Profitable Within Four Days Despite Thamma Clash
Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has defied expectations at the box office, entering the profit zone within just four days of release.
Despite facing stiff competition from Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror comedy Thamma, the film has resonated with audiences, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
Released on Diwali, the film opened to strong numbers, earning Rs 22.75 crore net in its first three days. On Day 4 (Friday), it added another Rs 5.5 crore, marking only an 8% dip from Thursday’s earnings. With a total domestic collection of Rs 28.25 crore net, the film has already surpassed its Rs 25 crore production budget.
Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film features a youthful cast and an emotionally charged storyline that has struck a chord with its target audience. While critics have offered mixed to negative reviews, praising the music and lead chemistry while flagging concerns over gender portrayal, audiences have responded positively, fueling strong word-of-mouth.
Trade analysts predict further growth over the weekend, with advance bookings indicating robust turnout. If the trend continues, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat could cross Rs 40 crore in its first week, cementing its status as one of 2025’s most profitable romantic dramas.
