ECoR Announces Holi Special Trains to Ease Festive Rush

To accommodate the surge in passenger demand during Holi and Dol Yatra, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced a series of special trains connecting Odisha with major destinations across India.

The special services will run between Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Sambalpur, and Puri to cities such as Yesvantpur, Bengaluru, Tirupati, Charlapalli, Shalimar, Dhanbad, Erode, Patna, and Sealdah. These trains will operate throughout March, with select routes extending into April.

Key schedules include Bhubaneswar–Yesvantpur (Feb 28–Mar 30), Bhubaneswar–Dhanbad (Mar 1–Apr 1), Sambalpur–Erode (Mar 4–Mar 27), and Visakhapatnam–Shalimar, Tirupati, Charlapalli, and Bengaluru (Mar 1–Mar 31). Puri–Patna and Sealdah–Malatipatpur services will also be available.

ECoR has assured that additional trains may be introduced depending on demand and operational feasibility.

Passengers are advised to check official railway enquiry systems and IRCTC for detailed schedules, halts, and booking availability.

These special trains aim to ease congestion, improve connectivity, and ensure safe, comfortable travel during the festive season.
