Eco-Friendly Kathajodi Riverfront Development

Cuttack, Odisha(OT Webdesk ) – The Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) has announced an ambitious project to transform a 200-acre stretch of the Kathajodi riverbank near Baranga tehsil into an eco-friendly recreational zone.

This initiative, which has recently been approved by the CDA, awaits final clearance from the state government before moving to the detailed project report (DPR) stage.

Environmental conservation lies at the heart of the proposal. Over 60% of the project area will be dedicated to plantations, while the remaining space will feature public amenities like parks, open-air gyms, and playgrounds.

CDA Vice-Chairman Anam Charan Patra emphasised the agency’s commitment to ecological preservation, stating that all development activities would adhere to guidelines set by the National Green Tribunal and other environmental authorities.

The project aims to enhance the city’s green cover while providing vibrant recreational spaces for residents and visitors alike, ensuring a harmonious balance between development and ecological sustainability.
