Dr. Durga Madhab Satapathy Appointed as New DMET Director in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed Dr Durga Madhab Satapathy as the new Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET).
Prior to this role, Dr Satapathy served as Superintendent of MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, where he oversaw one of the state’s premier healthcare institutions.
He succeeds Dr Santosh Mishra, who has been transferred to lead the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Bhubaneswar.
The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening medical education, training, and healthcare delivery across government medical colleges and hospitals in the state.
Officials believe Dr Satapathy’s extensive administrative experience and leadership in medical education will help enhance Odisha’s healthcare infrastructure and improve training standards for future medical professionals.
