Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), July 6: Amidst the controversy surrounding the Kusuma cottage within a children’s park in Jajpur, Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan announced on Saturday that the district administration will assume control of the project.
According to Kalyan, it has been established that the cottage was constructed on Municipality land using CSR funds. After completion, it was supposed to be transferred to the district administration, but there has been a delay in this process. Now, the district administration will take charge of the cottage to ensure proper management.
Kalyan also stated that a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be formulated to facilitate public access to the project.
“We have reviewed the situation with the Sports Department, which has confirmed the project’s status. It is clear that the cottage was constructed on Municipality land using CSR funds. Since it is a government project on Municipality property, the district administration will assume responsibility. We will establish an SOP to enable public use and ensure its effective management,” Kalyan explained.
Earlier, Jajpur Municipality Deputy Chairman Santosh Mallick had indicated that the cottage was intended for sports development. However, the Sports Department clarified that it did not allocate funds for the project and lacked information about it.
