Digital Policing: Odisha Sets a National Benchmark
Odisha Police is emerging as a pioneer in technology‑driven law enforcement, reshaping how crimes are investigated and prevented.
With cybercrime on the rise, the state has embraced digital tools that enhance transparency, speed, and citizen trust.
The e‑Sakshya application has revolutionised evidence management, ensuring chain‑of‑custody integrity for over 107,000 digital files.
Paperless workflows, including audio‑video documentation and electronic signatures, have streamlined investigations, with more than 137,000 FIRs and 82,000 final reports processed digitally.
National intelligence sharing has also been strengthened through the Cri‑MAC portal, which has logged nearly 300,000 entries, enabling real‑time coordination against organised crime.
On the citizen front, the Cyber Helpline 1930 has become a lifeline, handling 12 lakh calls and blocking fraudulent transactions worth over Rs 100 crore.
Together, these innovations position Odisha as a model for future‑ready policing, blending legal reforms with digital transformation to safeguard citizens in an increasingly connected world.
