PURI(OT Webdesk)— IAS officer Dibya Jyoti Parida officially took charge as the new Collector of Puri district on Friday, succeeding Chanchal Rana, who has been transferred to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) as Commissioner.
Before stepping into office, Parida paid a ceremonial visit to the Jagannath Temple, seeking divine blessings.
His arrival at the Collectorate was marked by a warm welcome from senior officials, including Additional Collectors Sarat Chandra Behera, Sarat Chandra Mahapatra, and Nilamadhab Bhoi, along with Zilla Parishad CDO Priyaranjan Prusty, Municipal EO Abhimanyu Behera, and Sub-Collector Raj Kishore Jena.
Parida, formerly the Collector of Ganjam, outlined his vision for Puri’s development, stressing the importance of inclusive governance, inter-departmental collaboration, and active public participation.
His priorities include infrastructure enhancement, social welfare initiatives, and heritage conservation.
The seamless administrative transition signals a renewed push for holistic development in the heritage-rich district.
