JAJPUR; Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi celebrated his birthday today, stepping into his 54th year amid an outpouring of greetings from political leaders, party workers and well-wishers from across the country.
Messages of goodwill poured in throughout the day, reflecting his growing stature in state and national politics. Mohan Charan Majhi was born on January 6, 1972, in Raikala village of Keonjhar district.
He entered electoral politics in 2000, when he was elected as an MLA from the Keonjhar Assembly constituency for the first time. His political journey reflects steady growth rooted in grassroots engagement.
In 2024, following the BJP’s sweeping victory in Odisha, Majhi took oath as the state’s 15th Chief Minister on June 12 and has since been discharging his responsibilities at the helm of the government.
As the Odisha CM marks another year in his life, the day stands as both a celebration of personal milestones and a reminder of the responsibilities he carries, with hopes high for Odisha’s future under his leadership.
MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo extended his wishes on the social media platform X, praising the Chief Minister’s dedication to Odisha’s development.
MLA Himanshu noted that Majhi’s commitment and sense of duty would continue to guide the state on the path of progress, while also acknowledging his consistent efforts towards empowering the youth.
He wished the Chief Minister a healthy and long life. Dharmasala BJP workers have celebrated CM Mohan Charan Majhi’s birthday in various ways, often by offering prayers, distributing sweets and food, organising social initiatives, rather than specifically “offering diya” to celebrate, which is a different Hindu ritual at Gorkrneswar temple in Jajpur District.
