Devotion Drenched in Rain: Thousands Gather at Barbil’s Chhath Ghats for Peaceful Worship and Grand Ganga Aarti
Barbil, October 27 — The city of Barbil witnessed a magnificent surge of devotion and celebration as thousands of worshippers gathered at two major Chhath Puja ghats—Barbil Dam Ghat and Laxminagar Karo River Ghat—to offer evening Arghya to the Sun God.
Despite intermittent showers, the spirit of Chhath remained undeterred, transforming the city into a vibrant epicentre of faith and festivity.
At Barbil Dam Ghat, an estimated crowd of over 10,000 devotees assembled, while Karo River Ghat saw around 5,000 participants.

Both locations were adorned with lights, music, and the rhythmic chants of Chhath songs, creating an atmosphere of spiritual grandeur.
The highlight of the evening was the mesmerising Ganga Aarti performed at both ghats, drawing awe and reverence from the gathered devotees.
Organisers confirmed that a special morning Ganga Aarti will be held tomorrow to conclude the celebrations with equal fervour.
Members of the Station Road Chhath Puja Committee—including Manish Chandra, Rahul Jaiswal, Rahul Dubey, Durgesh Ray, Surendra Prajapati, Harshpreet Sharma, Deepak Chauhan, Ashish Agarwal, Ritesh Sah, Anup Mishra, Ajay Keshri, and Vishal Sahoo—expressed deep satisfaction over the arrangements and the peaceful conduct of the event.

Their coordinated efforts, along with full support from the local administration, ensured safety and smooth proceedings throughout the evening.
Even as rain graced the twilight hours, devotees remained immersed in prayer and celebration, returning home with hearts full of joy and devotion.
