Deogarh Jatra Bus Accident: 20 Artistes Injured in Ghati Mishap
Deogarh, Odisha: At least 20 artistes of the Opera Western Odisha Jatra Party were injured when their bus overturned at Dhangapathar Ghati in Deogarh district late Sunday night.
The troupe was returning from a performance in Dhangapathar village when the accident occurred.
Local residents rushed to the spot and helped rescue the injured passengers.
Initially, the artistes were taken to Kansar Hospital, but several were later referred to the Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital for advanced treatment.
Police from Riamal station have launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities confirmed that some of the injured are in critical condition.
This accident has sparked concern over road safety in the hilly terrain of Deogarh, where similar mishaps have been reported in the past.
