Darshan Suspended at Puri Srimandir for Ornament Transfer to Ratna Bhandar
Puri, — In a significant development, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced the temporary suspension of darshan at the revered Puri Srimandir starting 10 AM on September 23, 2025.
The move comes as part of a scheduled ritual to transfer the sacred Ratna Alankara (ornaments) of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Chakraraj Sudarshan to the temple’s permanent treasury, the Ratna Bhandar.
During the transfer, devotees will not be permitted to enter the sanctum or key temple zones. However, Mahaprasad will continue to be served at Anand Bazaar, ensuring that the spiritual experience remains accessible in part.
SJTA has appealed to devotees and stakeholders for cooperation to ensure the smooth and secure execution of this sacred procedure. Temple access and darshan will resume once the transfer is complete.
This ritual underscores the temple’s commitment to preserving its centuries-old traditions while maintaining transparency and security in handling its priceless heritage.
