Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), June 26: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy rainfall in Odisha from June 26 to 29 due to a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. Thunderstorm activity with gusty winds is expected to continue until June 28, with heavy to very heavy rain likely in certain districts on June 27 and 28.
On June 26, heavy rainfall is predicted in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, and Bargarh. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are also expected in several other districts.
Bhubaneswar is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with chances of moderate rain or thundershowers.
On June 27, heavy rainfall may occur in Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Balangir, and Nuapada districts, with heavy to very heavy showers in Malkangiri and Koraput. Similar thunderstorm activity is expected in various districts.
June 28 could see heavy to very heavy rain persisting in Nabarangpur and Nuapada, with heavy rain likely in Balangir, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Gajapati, and Kandhamal. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are anticipated in several districts as well.
