Cyclone Montha: Indian Railways on High Alert with War Rooms and Safety Protocols
The Honorable Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, has personally reviewed the preparedness for the impending Cyclone Montha and its expected impact on the East Coast.

In response, Indian Railways has entered full preparedness mode, activating war rooms at the Divisional, Zonal, and Board levels to ensure real-time coordination and rapid response.
Essential resources and manpower have been strategically positioned in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Guntur, maintaining vigilance around the clock to minimise disruptions to train operations and ensure passenger safety.
Minister Vaishnaw has been in constant contact with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu and Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, along with senior Railway officials.
Spoke with Andhra Pradesh CM @ncbn Ji and Odisha CM @MohanMOdisha Ji, along with concerned Railway officials. Decisions taken for immediate restoration work post landfall of the cyclone.

He emphasised that immediate restoration work will commence after landfall to ensure the quickest possible normalisation of train services and essential connectivity.
