Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium to Host 2nd India vs Sri Lanka T20I on 24 Dec

The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has announced that Barabati Stadium will host the second T20 International of Sri Lanka’s Tour of India on Thursday, 24 December 2026, at 7:00 PM.

The announcement was made during a press briefing addressed by OCA Treasurer Bikash Pradhan in the presence of CEO Mr. Subrat Behera.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has awarded the high-profile fixture to the historic venue following a strong representation by OCA Secretary Shri Sanjay Behera.

On 15 March 2026, during the BCCI Naman Awards, Shri Behera met ICC Chairman Shri Jay Shah and BCCI Secretary Shri Devajit Saikia and highlighted OCA’s proven capability after successfully hosting two international matches at Barabati Stadium within a single year.

Expressing delight over the allocation, the OCA stated that the decision reflects the BCCI’s continued faith in the association’s organisational excellence. “Hosting another international fixture is a matter of immense pride for the state,” the release noted.

The OCA extended its gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, and the State Government for their unwavering support in previous international assignments.

The association also thanked all its members, stakeholders, and cricket enthusiasts across Odisha for their continued backing.

Cricket fans in the state are already buzzing with excitement as Barabati Stadium prepares to welcome top-class T20 action once again.

The OCA has assured that every effort will be made to ensure a memorable experience for players, officials, and spectators alike.
