Bhubaneswar, July 18, (OT Webdesk) – Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan today to discuss a series of developmental initiatives focused on transforming the Cuttack parliamentary region into a modern and prosperous zone.
Discussions covered a range of proposed projects, including the development of vending zones in the OMP area, the construction of a state-of-the-art convention centre, the renovation of Ranihat locality, and the creation of a green park near Press Chhak. A comprehensive plan to integrate the birthplace of Madhusudan Das in Satyabhamapur into Odisha’s heritage corridor was also tabled.
Further deliberations involved urban upgrades like a Drainage Master Plan for CMC and CDA areas, revival of industrial units such as the Bhagamunda Sugar Mill and the Bhagatpur Cotton Mill, and proposals for sub-divisional level cold storage facilities.
CM Majhi assured that suitable administrative steps would be initiated to fast-track each project. He emphasised the aim to develop Cuttack and its adjoining areas into a model district marked by infrastructure excellence and cultural pride.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary for Industries Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM Shashwat Mishra, and Urban Administration Director Arindam Dakua.
