Cuttack Development Projects Reviewed: Minister Directs Timely Completion

Odisha Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra chaired a high‑level review meeting at Unnati Bhawan to assess the progress of key urban projects in Cuttack.

Senior officials from the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) and Cuttack Development Authority (CDA), including Commissioner and Vice‑Chairperson Kirandeep Kaur Sahota, were present.

The meeting focused on heritage preservation, ecological revival, and civic amenities.

Projects under discussion included beautification of the historic Gora Kabar cremation ground, restoration of ponds, modernisation of Gosala facilities, and upgradation of multi‑purpose parks.

The extension of the fish market and regular maintenance of parks across the city were also emphasised.

Dr Mahapatra directed officials to ensure strict adherence to timelines and quality standards, stressing the importance of seamless coordination between CMC and CDA.

He highlighted the need for balancing heritage conservation with modern infrastructure to make Cuttack more livable and vibrant.

Additional Secretary of the H&UD Department, Satrughna Kar, also attended the session, reaffirming the government’s commitment to transforming Cuttack into a model urban centre.
