Cuttack Celebrates Dahibara Aloodum Day with Flavor and Pride

Cuttack came alive today as the district administration hosted the second edition of Dahibara Aloodum Day at the Lower Baliyatra Ground.

The festival, dedicated to the city’s most beloved street food, brought together over 50 vendors who recreated the authentic taste of this culinary heritage.

District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde highlighted that dahibara aloodum is “not just food, it is an emotion and part of Cuttack’s identity.” The event aims to promote the dish at the state and national levels, boosting tourism and strengthening the local economy.

The celebration featured cultural performances, a selfie zone, and enthusiastic participation from residents and visitors.

The Cuttack Dahibara Aludam Association expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that it inspires younger generations to preserve the legacy.

Dahibara aloodum — lentil dumplings soaked in spiced curd and served with tangy potato curry — remains the heart of Cuttack’s street food culture, now celebrated as a symbol of pride and tradition.
