Cuttack Bali Yatra 2025 Kicks Off Plot Registration with Auction-Based Allotment System

Cuttack — The registration process for stall plots at the iconic Cuttack Bali Yatra 2025 commenced today, introducing a new auction-based system aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness in plot allotment.

Application forms are available at Barabati Palace until October 9 for Rs100, with individuals and organisations allowed to apply for up to three plots. A registration fee of Rs 5,000 per plot has been fixed.

In cases of multiple applicants vying for the same plot, an open auction will determine the final allotment—marking a significant shift from previous years’ allocation methods.

This year’s fair, officially titled “Historic Bali Yatra Cuttack 2025,” will be held from November 5 to 12 along the banks of the Mahanadi River.

Spanning 60 acres—nearly double its previous footprint—the event will feature hundreds of stalls, two cultural stages, and 50 dedicated buses for public transport. Daily activities will conclude by 11 PM.

Mayor Subhash Singh has appealed to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to allow the use of the upper ground for stalls, citing traffic concerns and cultural sentiment.

However, district authorities have restricted commercial activity to the lower ground, citing crowd safety.

Heritage activists have backed the mayor’s proposal, emphasising the Upper Ground’s role in preserving Cuttack’s maritime legacy.

With record participation expected from traders, artisans, and cultural groups, Bali Yatra 2025 is poised to be one of the most vibrant editions yet.
