Bhubaneswar, May 25, 2025 ( OT Webdesk)– In their final match of the IPL 2025 season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) dismantled Gujarat Titans (GT) with a dominant 83-run win at the iconic Chepauk Stadium.
Despite the commanding performance, CSK finishes at the bottom of the points table, marking an uncharacteristically poor season for the franchise.
Winning the toss, CSK opted to bat first and unleashed a batting spectacle. Ayush Mhatre’s explosive 34 off 17 balls laid the foundation, followed by Devon Conway’s composed half-century.
Dewald Brevis then stole the show with a blistering 57 off 26, smashing the second-fastest fifty for CSK. Their remarkable effort saw CSK post a daunting total of 230/5.
GT’s chase unravelled within the first five overs, as Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, and Rutherford fell cheaply, leaving them reeling at 30/3.
Shah Rukh Khan and Sai Sudharsan attempted a comeback with a promising partnership, but Ravindra Jadeja’s double strike in the 11th over dashed their hopes.
Noor Ahmed and Kamboj’s three-wicket hauls ensured that GT were bowled out for 147, handing CSK a comprehensive victory.
Despite ending their season at the bottom of the points table, CSK’s final match showcased glimpses of their past dominance.
As IPL 2025 approaches its knockout stages, GT’s playoff fate now hinges on RCB, LSG, and the PBKS-MI clash.
