Corruption or negligence will not be tolerated, Odisha CM tells CDOs and BDOs
Bhubaneswar, May 15 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has issued a stern warning to State-level Chief Development Officers (CDOs) and Block Development Officers (BDOs), stating that corruption or negligence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Addressing the State-level CDO and BDO Conference on Thursday, Majhi emphasized, “You have been appointed to serve the people. You must work with sincerity and a spirit of service.”
He further warned, “Let me make it clear—if you neglect your responsibilities, strict action will be taken. Corruption or negligence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
The Chief Minister remarked, “Our blocks are a reflection of our administrative success. If they function efficiently and people receive the benefits of all government schemes, it will demonstrate the government’s effectiveness.”
Majhi reiterated that the government’s goal is to ensure that even the last person in the queue receives all basic amenities. He added that the success of the government depends on the effective implementation of schemes at the district level.
Highlighting the crucial role of CDOs and BDOs, he said, “You are directly connected with people at the grassroots level and are aware of their needs and challenges.”
He urged officials to ensure that all government schemes are effectively communicated and implemented. “Do not treat the beneficiaries as objects of mercy—these are their rights. You are the bridge between the government and the people,” he concluded.
