Congress to gherao District Collector’s offices over deteriorating law and order situation in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 7 The Odisha Congress will gherao the offices of all District Collectors and Additional District Magistrates on March 10 in protest against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, party President Bhakta Charan Das said.
Das stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has utterly failed to control the law and order situation in the state during its eight months in power.
Cases of murder, rape, and atrocities against women in the state have been increasing daily, the Congress President said. He added that it appears the law and order situation has completely collapsed.
In protest, the Congress party will demonstrate in front of all District Collector and Additional District Magistrate offices in the state on Monday.
To ensure the success of this program, the OPCC President has appointed district observers for each district. These observers will soon visit their assigned districts and coordinate the program with the respective District Presidents.
Das said that a memorandum on the deteriorating law and order situation in the state will be submitted to the concerned District Collector, addressed to the Odisha Governor, on March 10. (UNI)
