Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Jan 31: Ahead of the India-England ODI match on February 9, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday visited Barabati Stadium in Cuttack to review the preparations and security arrangements.
“I discussed the progress in preparations and the steps being taken to ensure the comfort of spectators and players. This is also the first international match being played at the stadium under the new government,” Majhi said, expressing satisfaction with the arrangements.
During his visit, the CM also faced a ball bowled by former cricketer and ex-BJP MLA Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra. As part of the pre-match excitement, he unveiled a special theme song composed by Prem Anand and rapped by Samir Rishu Mohanty, aka Rapper Big Deal.
The upcoming match marks Barabati’s return to hosting an ODI after a gap of over five years, with its last international fixture held on December 22, 2019, between India and West Indies.
The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has announced ticket sale dates. Online ticket sales begin on February 2, with redemption from February 7-9 at Cambridge School, Cuttack, and KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. Offline ticket sales at Barabati Stadium counters will be held on February 5 and 6, from 9 am to 6 pm. Fans can purchase up to two tickets per person with a valid ID.
