CM Mohan Majhi Champions Drug-Free India at ‘Namo Yuva Run’ in Bhubaneswar
In a vibrant show of solidarity and youth engagement, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led thousands in the ‘Namo Yuva Run’ on Sunday, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday under the nationwide ‘Seva Pakhwada’.
The marathon, part of the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, began at Kalinga Stadium and concluded at Janata Maidan, drawing students, athletes, and citizens from across Bhubaneswar.
Addressing the crowd, CM Majhi emphasised the urgent need to combat substance abuse, calling addiction a “growing menace” that threatens the health, education, and future of India’s youth.
He administered an oath to participants, urging them to become agents of change in building a drug-free nation.
Majhi highlighted the Prime Minister’s initiatives—from Digital India to Stand Up India—as transformative steps toward self-reliance, and positioned the fight against addiction as the next frontier in nation-building.
In a heartwarming moment post-run, the Chief Minister stopped at a local tea stall near Mayfair Square, engaging with citizens and checking on welfare schemes.
His interaction with students and senior citizens underscored his commitment to grassroots outreach.
The event saw participation from key leaders, including Ministers Nityananda Gond and Suraj Suryavanshi, MLAs Babu Singh and Siddhanta Mahapatra, and other senior officials.
