CM Majhi Unveils Vision for Odisha on 79th Independence Day
Bhubaneswar, August 15 (OT Webdesk): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hoisted the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg to mark the 79th Independence Day, unveiling a comprehensive roadmap for the state’s progress.
In his address, CM Majhi spotlighted key development pillars—education, healthcare, and infrastructure—while reaffirming his government’s commitment to inclusive welfare. Under the Vaya Vandana scheme, ₹936 crore in medical benefits have been extended to citizens aged 70 and above.
Majhi emphasized district-wide industrialization, with plans to establish pharmaceutical companies to position Odisha as a pharma hub. He also announced the launch of the Jana Aashraya housing scheme in Bhubaneswar and initiatives to empower youth.
Women’s safety took center stage, with the CM declaring a zero-tolerance policy against violence. He assured strict legal action against offenders, regardless of status, and empowered police to act decisively.
Addressing law and order, Majhi vowed to eliminate drug trafficking and organized crime, promising swift action against goondaraj across urban and rural areas. He reiterated the government’s resolve to maintain peace and enforce laws to curb extortion and related crimes.
