CM Majhi Unveils Rs 46,000 Cr Maritime Vision to Position Paradip as Global Trade Powerhouse

Paradip,  November 5, 2025 — In a landmark move to reshape Odisha’s economic trajectory, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday launched a Rs 46,000 crore Maritime Vision at Paradip, aimed at transforming the port town into a globally competitive maritime and logistics hub.

Addressing a high-profile gathering at Paradip Port, CM Majhi emphasised the strategic importance of Odisha’s coastline and the state’s potential to become a gateway for international trade. “This vision is a blueprint for economic resurgence.

Paradip will no longer be just a port—it will be a global connector,” he declared.

The Maritime Vision outlines a multi-pronged development strategy that includes:

  • Modernisation of Paradip Port with smart logistics and digital infrastructure
  • Expansion of cargo handling capacity to accommodate rising global demand
  • Green shipping initiatives to align with sustainable development goals
  • Multimodal connectivity linking the port with national highways, railways, and inland waterways
  • Public-private partnerships to accelerate project execution and attract global investment

The initiative is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, boost exports, and enhance Odisha’s role in India’s maritime economy. With this bold step, Paradip is set to emerge as a critical node in the country’s blue economy framework.
