CM Majhi Leads BJP’s High-Octane Campaign in Nuapada Ahead of Bypoll
Nuapada, Odisha — In a show of electoral strength, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi spearheaded a dynamic roadshow in Komna block on Thursday to rally support for BJP candidate Jay Dholakia.
The campaign, marked by energetic participation, was bolstered by Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, and MP Basanta Panda.
Komna, the constituency’s most voter-dense region, has become the focal point for all three major parties—BJP, BJD, and Congress. Earlier this week, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnudeo Sai also campaigned in the area, signalling the BJP’s aggressive push.
Jay Dholakia, son of former BJD candidate Rajendra Dholakia, is contesting on a BJP ticket, adding a layer of complexity to voter dynamics.
In the previous election, BJD led the vote count, followed by independent Ghasiram Majhi, now Congress’s nominee, whose voter base remains influential.
BJD is countering with intensified strategy meetings and a second round of roadshows led by party chief Naveen Patnaik, scheduled for November 7 in Khariar Road and Nuapada NAC. Meanwhile, over 40 BJP MLAs and eight ministers are camping in the region, while Congress has yet to launch a major rally.
