CM Majhi Launches New Odisha Bhavan Project in Delhi

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has laid the foundation stone for a new Odisha Bhavan at Kautilya Marg, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

The project, estimated at Rs 93.27 crore, will feature three basements and seven floors, housing 45 rooms, suites, an exhibition area, and a modern conference hall with a 70-seat capacity.

Designed to reflect Odisha’s rich art, heritage, and culture, the new Bhavan replaces the old structure that was demolished in 2025 due to structural issues.

Until now, Odisha officials have been accommodated at the Ashoka Hotel.

The state government also announced plans for new Odisha Bhavans in Ayodhya, Bengaluru, Surat, and Mumbai, in addition to existing facilities in Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai.

A dedicated division will be set up to manage all Odisha Bhavans and Sadans.

In Bhubaneswar, a Janashraya Bhavan will be constructed near Master Canteen Square to provide affordable lodging for citizens visiting the capital.

The ceremony was attended by Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Odisha PWD Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Bargarh MP Pradeep Purohit, and senior officials including Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh.
