CM Majhi Launches Jagannath Darshan Yojana in Nabarangpur, Free Pilgrimage for Senior Citizens and Widows

Nabarangpur, Odisha: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched the Jagannath Darshan Yojana, a landmark welfare initiative aimed at providing free pilgrimage opportunities to economically disadvantaged senior citizens and widows.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries aged 60–75 will receive free transportation, accommodation, meals, and Mahaprasad during their visit to the sacred Jagannath Temple in Puri.

In its first phase, more than 500 devotees from across districts will embark on this spiritual journey.

The program is designed not only to fulfil the religious aspirations of marginalised communities but also to strengthen Odisha’s cultural identity.

Alongside the launch, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several development projects in Nabarangpur, signalling a broader push for regional progress.

Citizens have welcomed the initiative as both a spiritual blessing and a milestone in social welfare, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and cultural preservation.
