Bhadrak | June 2 (OT Webdesk) – In a historic step toward the district’s progress, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid the foundation for 13 key development projects in Bhadrak, amounting to approximately ₹275 crore. The projects span multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and industrial growth, aiming to elevate Bhadrak as a leading district in Odisha.
During the grand event held in Balia Pada, the CM officially inaugurated nine major projects while laying the foundation stone for four new initiatives. One of the most noteworthy announcements was the establishment of a government university in Bhadrak, fulfilling a longstanding demand of the residents. Additionally, the foundation stone for a medical college is set to be laid soon, promising improved healthcare accessibility.
The industrial growth of Bhadrak received a significant push with major investments from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and MCPI Private Limited. IOCL is investing ₹4,377 crore to set up a Technical Textile Complex, creating thousands of job opportunities. Similarly, MCPI Private Limited will establish a HMLS Polyester Production Company, with an investment of ₹2,224 crore, further strengthening Odisha’s industrial economy.
Beyond economic growth, the CM also emphasised cultural preservation and beautification by announcing the revitalisation of martyr memorials across Bhadrak, ensuring these historic sites are maintained with enhanced aesthetic appeal.
Speaking at the event, CM Majhi reiterated his government’s commitment to rapid development. “From day one, our government has worked tirelessly to fulfil promises made to the people. With every passing year, our initiatives will continue to transform Odisha into a model state of prosperity,” he said.
With significant investments flowing into Bhadrak, the district is poised for an era of unprecedented growth, reinforcing Odisha’s status as an emerging powerhouse in education, healthcare, and industry.
