CM Majhi Inaugurates Collectors & SPs Conference, Sets Vision for Prosperous Odisha by 2036

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated a two-day conference of district collectors and superintendents of police at Lok Seva Bhavan, outlining the state government’s ambitious roadmap for development.

Addressing the gathering, Majhi reiterated his vision of achieving a “Prosperous Odisha by 2036” and contributing to a “Developed India by 2047.” He emphasised the role of district officials as grassroots representatives responsible for the effective implementation of government schemes.

Highlighting his extensive outreach, Majhi noted that in 524 days of governance, he toured nearly all districts, including 32 visits each to Cuttack and Keonjhar.

He stressed that Odisha must rank among the top five states by 2036, citing the success of the first Utkarsa Odisha Conclave, which attracted investment proposals worth Rs 22 lakh crore.

The Chief Minister issued a strong directive to the Ganjam district administration, pointing out that Subarnapur village in Asika block still lacks electricity even after 78 years of independence.

He instructed immediate electrification to ensure children no longer study under lanterns and candles.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari also addressed the gathering, calling for the elimination of the “middleman system” in government offices to ensure corruption-free administration.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja urged collectors to increase field visits, interact more with citizens, and improve inter-departmental coordination, stressing that all government work must be “outstanding” to meet leadership expectations.
