Chief Secretary Anu Garg Charts Roadmap for Odisha Vision 2036

In her first high‑level meeting since assuming office, Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg outlined a comprehensive agenda to accelerate governance reforms and development projects across the state.

The meeting, attended by senior secretaries and commissioners, focused on implementing 15 directives issued by the Chief Minister to transform Odisha by 2036.

Key priorities include filling vacant government posts, enforcing accountability among staff, and rolling out an annual training calendar under Mission Karmayogi.

Garg emphasised the need for efficient, people‑oriented administration and mandated that all official presentations and minutes be prepared in Odia, with department websites updated bilingually.

Infrastructure development remains central to the roadmap, with directives to expedite projects in ports, roads, bridges, irrigation, energy, and urban growth.

Rural development will be driven by Mission POWER, ensuring electricity, piped drinking water, and all‑weather roads in every village.

Public grievance redressal has been tightened, with complaints to be resolved within 10 days. Departments were also urged to accelerate spending to meet 2025‑26 budget targets and achieve revenue collection goals.

Drawing from the 5th National Chief Secretaries’ Conference, Garg highlighted national priorities such as transforming Anganwadi centres into “happiness hubs,” ensuring toilets in all centres by International Women’s Day, and strengthening higher education through skill‑based, employment‑oriented curricula.

Other focus areas include promoting the dignity of labour through digital skills training, integrating sports and extracurriculars into school curricula, enhancing tourism infrastructure, and creating livelihood opportunities in Maoist‑affected regions.

Garg called for teamwork and innovation to achieve the twin goals of Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047, praising the contributions of secretaries in shaping policy and execution.
