Sikkim Bus Tragedy

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), June 15: Private bus services in Odisha’s Koraput district, disrupted on Saturday due to a dispute between owners and employees, have returned to normalcy following intervention from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) reported that after direct intervention, officials from the district administration facilitated talks between the Private Bus Owners’ Association and the Employees’ Association, successfully resolving the issue.

The statement from the CMO indicated that private bus operations have resumed their regular schedule following productive discussions mediated by district officials with both associations.

Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the importance of prioritizing passenger interests and convenience, advising the transport department, district administration, and the associations accordingly.

The disruption occurred after a disagreement between the Private Bus Owners’ Association and the Employees’ Association regarding bus timings on Friday, leading to a temporary suspension of services. The Employees’ Association suspended bus operations pending resolution of the conflict.
