Chaos at Bhubaneswar Airport as Air India Cancels Flights
Passengers at Biju Patnaik International Airport faced hours of frustration after Air India Express abruptly cancelled its Pune–Bhubaneswar and Bhubaneswar–Pune flights.
Initially delayed by two hours, the flights were later scrapped without a clear explanation, leaving travellers stranded.
The cancellations triggered heated exchanges between passengers and airline staff, as many demanded immediate alternatives.
After nearly three hours, the airline arranged re‑routing: 72 passengers were shifted to a Mumbai flight, while others were redirected to Delhi and Bangalore.
The lack of transparency around the cancellations has drawn sharp criticism, highlighting the need for better communication and contingency planning by airlines operating in Odisha.
