Chaibasa: Encounter Between Police and Naxals, Explosives Looted from Odisha Recovered

An intense encounter took place between security forces and CPI (Maoist) Naxals in Chaibasa district on Friday. During the operation, the explosives looted from Odisha in recent days were successfully recovered.

Following the directive of SP Rakesh Ranjan, a joint team of CRPF and Jharkhand Police launched an operation in the Tirilposi area of Jarai Kela police station. This region is surrounded by dense forests and rugged hills, which provided a tactical advantage to the Naxals. However, as security forces mounted pressure, the Naxals fled deep into the jungle using the terrain to their benefit. During an intensive search operation, the forces recovered explosives and other essential materials, which have been confiscated.

Naxals triggered a previously planted IED, aiming to target security personnel. As a result, Cobra Battalion soldier Sunil Kumar sustained minor injuries. Acting swiftly, he was provided immediate medical aid and later shifted to the hospital for advanced treatment. Despite this cowardly attack, the anti-Naxal operation remains ongoing.

Several high-profile Naxal leaders, including Anl, Asim Mandal, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angaria, Ashwin, Pintu Lohra, Chandan Lohra, Amit Hansda alias Upton, Jaikant, and Rapa Munda, are reportedly operating in the Saranda-Kolhan region with their squads. In response, security forces have intensified efforts, deploying Chaibasa Police, Cobra Battalion, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF in a joint tactical operation to counter their destructive activities.

Authorities have reinforced their commitment to eradicating Naxal influence, ensuring that decisive action will continue in the coming days.
