CBI Cracks Down: ED Deputy Director Caught in Rs 20 Lakh Bribery Sting

CBI arrests ED deputy director Chintan Raghuvanshi

Bhubaneswar, May 30, ( OT Webdesk) – In a significant move against corruption within law enforcement agencies, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Chintan Raghuvanshi, Deputy Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Odisha.

The officer was allegedly caught accepting a Rs 20 lakh bribe from a local mine operator.

According to officials, Raghuvanshi, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, had negotiated a Rs 50 lakh deal to remove the mine operator’s name from a money laundering investigation.

However, his activities came under scrutiny, leading to a sting operation that resulted in his red-handed arrest in Bhubaneswar.

The arrest is seen as a major step in tackling corruption within India’s financial enforcement agencies.

Authorities have assured that further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of Raghuvanshi’s alleged misconduct.

This development has sparked discussions on the integrity of regulatory bodies and the need for stronger oversight measures to ensure transparency in legal proceedings.
