CBI Arrests Another Middleman in Odisha Police SI Exam Scam
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made another breakthrough in the ongoing probe into the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam.
Officials arrested Epili Sitaram, a middleman from Berhampur, for his alleged role in facilitating the fraudulent examination process.
Investigators revealed that Sitaram was closely associated with prime accused Shankar Prusty. He reportedly helped arrange candidates and coordinate buses to Andhra Pradesh, where the malpractice was executed.
His involvement was confirmed through evidence collected during the investigation, leading to multiple rounds of interrogation before his arrest.
With this development, the total number of arrests in the case has risen to 18. Earlier, the CBI had filed a primary chargesheet against 16 individuals, including Prusty.
The agency has emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing, with more arrests likely as the probe deepens.
This arrest underscores the scale of the scam and the CBI’s continued efforts to ensure accountability in the recruitment process.
