Cabinet clears two Semiconductor units for Odisha; CM Majhi thanks PM Modi, Union Minister Vaishnaw
Bhubaneswar, Aug 12 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the Union Cabinet’s approval to set up two semiconductor manufacturing units in the state.
In a post on social media platform X, Majhi said, “I look forward to continued partnership between the State and Central Governments to further this strategic initiative for the comprehensive development of Odisha and the nation. DoubleEngine.”
He noted that the recent amendment to the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing and Fabless Policy, aimed at improving investment viability, competitiveness, and sustainability, combined with the Cabinet’s latest approval, marks a significant milestone in the state’s industrial and technological growth.
According to Majhi, the collaborative effort will accelerate innovation, generate employment, and strengthen Odisha’s role in achieving the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, approved two semiconductor projects in Odisha as part of four new units sanctioned under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), with a total investment of Rs 4,594 crore.
The projects will be set up at Info Valley, Bhubaneswar, positioning Odisha as an emerging hub for semiconductor manufacturing.
