Boudh Hit‑And‑Run Accident: Two Killed, Police Launch Probe
Two people lost their lives in a tragic hit‑and‑run accident near Telibandha Chhak in Odisha’s Boudh district late Monday night.
The victims were travelling in a car (registration number OD‑02‑X‑3921) when an unidentified speeding vehicle rammed into it, causing the car to veer off the road and crash into a nearby agricultural field.
Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the occupants, who were immediately shifted to the Boudh district headquarters hospital in an 108 ambulance. Unfortunately, doctors declared both victims dead upon arrival.
Police have seized the damaged car and launched an investigation. Officers from Boudh and Jahnapank police stations are scanning CCTV footage to trace the fleeing vehicle.
The identities of the deceased remain unknown as no documents were recovered from the site.
The incident has sparked shock among locals, who have demanded stricter enforcement against reckless driving on National Highway 57. Authorities have assured that all possible steps will be taken to bring the culprit to justice.
